Kai's Farm

Friday, November 19, 2010

Everyone and everything on Kai’s Farm is a lot sadder these days. Our good friend, next door neighbor and partner on much of what we do on Kai’s Farm, is gone.

Our friend, Tom Jardine, passed away on November 10th. A Korean War veteran, and life-long Marine, Tom died on the 235th Birthday of his beloved US Marine Corps.

We lowered his flag to half-staff, and helped his family in any way we could.

Tom was the first one to call Kai a “hard-working man.” Tom and Kai were special friends, the kind of friends only hard-working men can be.

Thanks, Tom.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm.... over two inches of rain in less than 12 hours. The pond filled up enough to overflow. Pretty soggy, but then.. this is Oregon.

They keep talking about a rain storm, but the pond isn't getting any deeper............

It's going to start raining tonight, so I think we better keep an eye on how deep the pond gets.

Every island needs a bridge

Ahhhhh..... the first official pictures of "Tucker Island." Naturally, it's named after the construction supervisor... well, that plus the fact that he was the first one on the island, and he peed on it.......

Mark and Tom brought some heavy duty equipment over to the farm to enlarge the pond. Tucker came along as the Supervisor.
